Construction is still in the early stages at the Studio Plaza project, which is bordered by Silver Spring Avenue, Mayor Lane, Thayer Avenue and Fenton Street. The site - which used to hold a Montgomery County public parking lot - sits just a block off of Georgia Avenue, and is within walking distance of Metro.
Studio Plaza will hold 415 residential units, 15% of which will be affordable. It will also boast 10,500 SF of retail, and 35100 SF of public space, including a green plaza, a through-block walk and public art displays. The developer is Fairfield Residential.
Fairfield Residential's Web site says the community name is undetermined and the project will open for leasing/move-ins summer 2018
ReplyDeleteThere is no way this will be ready in a year.
ReplyDeleteWhy? It's perfectly reasonable they will have a few units available, for example, in one tier by mid-August 2018. I don't think they meant the whole building will be ready for occupancy...that will take probably 14 additional months at best if they lease at a good clip of 30 units/month.
DeleteYeah, they're moving pretty quickly. They'll probably start pre-leasing next summer with delivery in the fall.
DeleteCentral is already behind schedule as they were suppose to open next month and are nowhere close. This communtiy will not be ready next year not even with a "Phase 1".
