The
Safeway store at 909 Thayer Avenue in downtown Silver Spring is starting to show its age. But not for long. Safeway is planning a $100,000 renovation of the store, to update both the exterior and interior. They're also going to renovate the parking deck.
They last renovated less than a decade ago, though admittedly it's still pretty crappy looking. They need to REDEVELOP already. I have no idea what they're waiting for; it's a far more profitable location to redevelop than the Wheaton location. Especially now that the other apartment buildings on Thayer are wrapping up construction I don't understand what they're waiting for.
