Red Ribbon Bakeshop has opened at 2501 University Boulevard West in the Georgia Crossing shopping center in Wheaton. The Filipino bakery chain was founded in 1979, and is now owned by the Jollibee Group, which has also opened a Jollibee fast food restaurant at the nearby Wheaton Plaza mall. It's interesting that in addition to the fresh bakery products, they have a variety of packaged baked goods available for purchase. Red Ribbon is a great addition to Wheaton in not only providing a new bakery in the neighborhood, but one with such unique cakes and pastries from the Phillipines, such as their famous top-selling Mango Supreme Cake.
