Hillandale man arrested in White Oak for loaded handgun, drugs, police allege

A Hillandale resident was arrested Wednesday night in White Oak for drug and weapons possession, after a foot chase in White Oak. Kossi Mensah, 34, was approached by Montgomery County police officers who allege he had just engaged in a drug transaction. The alleged buyer in the deal fled in a Nissan Rogue, allegedly hurling a bag of marijuana out the window of the vehicle as he went.

Seeing the officers, Mensah fled on foot while reaching for his waist. After a foot pursuit, officers detained Mensah and found marijuana on his person. They also recovered crack cocaine, eutylone, and ecstasy (MDMA) that they allege Mensah had thrown to the ground as he was pursued by officers.  Officers also found a loaded handgun they allege Mensah had thrown.

Mensah's prior convictions did not permit him to possess the gun, detectives explained. Mensah was transported to the County's Central Processing Unit, and is being held there without bond.
