Wheaton Plaza homicide suspect in custody

A suspect has been arrested in the stabbing deaths of two male victims at Westfield Wheaton Plaza mall on Tuesday. Angelo Lamont Jackson, 17, of Hawk Run Terrace in Montgomery Village has been charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree murder. Police have now identified one of the two victims, Angel Alfredo Pineda-Gomez, 24, of Silver Spring.  The second victim’s identity has not yet been released.

No mugshot has been released either, as Jackson is a juvenile - despite being charged as an adult. It's intriguing that the Montgomery County Police press release notes that Jackson was known to "multiple" officers, "from having prior contact with him." Jackson was arrested yesterday while leaving his home. He is being held without bond.

There's no word yet on whether this incident was gang-related. Detectives are currently working to determine the motive for the stabbings. They ask anyone who has information to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. For those who wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crimes Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

  1. "There's no word yet on whether this incident was gang-related."

That didn't stop you from claiming it probably was, back when you assumed the perpetrator was Hispanic. #fakenews #racist

    1. Your suggestion that only Latinos are in gangs is racist. The alleged killer being African American in no way proves this incident was not gang related on one side or the other. #FakeNews is the local media covering all these MoCo shootings, stabbings and homicides without mentioning the gang issue. That's why people are reading my websites, to get #RealNews. Facts.
