Panera Bread closes at Wheaton Plaza

Panera Bread
has permanently closed at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton. Signage has been removed, and the windows have been blacked out.

There have been many reports of Panera locations closing across the country this past summer, and now into the fall. The chain, which is a popular lunch destination, has been hit hard by the Covid-19 lockdown earlier this year as less people are at workplaces to buy a lunch.

  1. I swear that the mall in silver spring is popular due to the don pollo while Wheaton mall is just all closures.

  2. Panera is also popular for their breakfast, both weekday and weekends. Most locations nears businesses did/do a brisk a.m. volume as well. The RTC location appears to be still holding onto its space so far.

  3. Too bad Panera couldn't hold on a little longer. The new county office building in the Triangle is open and employees are slowing moving in.
