Wheaton-Claridge Local Park to reopen April 14

Here's a good way to relax at the income tax deadline this year. Wheaton-Claridge Local Park will be reopening to the public on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM. A two-hour celebration will include a ribbon-cutting, and family-friendly activities. Wheaton-Claridge Local Park is located at 11901 Claridge Road in Wheaton, off of Veirs Mill Road. Enjoy the kind of expansive park the Montgomery County Council and their developer sugar daddies have decided County residents don't deserve anymore. Our future is green postage stamps, dog parks and hardscaped, dystopian "active urban parks."

WHEATON-CLARIDGE LOCAL PARK PUBLIC MEETING TONIGHT

Residents who live near the Wheaton-Claridge Local Park (11901 Claridge Road in Wheaton), will want to attend a second public meeting on facility improvements there tonight at 7:00 PM, in the park's Activity Building. County park officials will present their initial plan concepts, based upon the public feedback received at an earlier meeting this spring.

WHEATON-CLARIDGE LOCAL PARK RENOVATION MEETING TONIGHT, 7 PM

Tonight from 7-9 PM at the Wheaton Claridge Local Park Activity building, Montgomery County park officials will discuss potential renovations to the park. A playground was previously removed from the park after being deemed unsafe.

The renovations could include a replacement bridge and playground, improved accessibility, and building and trail upgrades. Park officials say your input tonight will shape the final renovation proposal.
