Fatal accident on Norbeck Road near Llewellyn Fields neighborhood in Silver Spring

A Rockville man has died after a collision on Norbeck Road Friday night. Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit of the Montgomery County police say Christian Richardson, 24, of Dumbarton Drive in Rockville, was riding a 2014 Yamaha FZ-09 motorcycle heading west on Norbeck Road approaching Llewellyn Manor Way around 8:20 PM. A 2007 Toyota Prius on Llewellyn Manor Way attempted to cross Norbeck Road to enter Northwest Branch Recreational Park, and the two vehicles collided.

Richardson was transported to an unidentified local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Prius, identified as Tatiana Ogundeko, 22, of Waldorf, and an adult female passenger were not injured in the collision. Pedestrian struck in Wheaton

An elderly Silver Spring woman is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries today, after being struck by a car yesterday morning in Wheaton. Consuelo Mary Anglarill, 82, of the 2100 block of Bonnywood Lane in Silver Spring, was crossing Georgia Avenue in a western direction at Reedie Drive around 11:49 AM, when she was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The Impala's driver, Kevin Arias, 21, of the 10900 block of Amherst Avenue in Wheaton, was traveling north on Georgia Avenue at the time. Detectives are trying to piece together who had the signal at the time, and whether or not Anglarill was in the crosswalk at the time.

Police investigating Wheaton accident

A collision near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Dawson Avenue in Wheaton left one person with life-threatening injuries last night. According to Montgomery County Police, a male pedestrian was crossing southbound Georgia - and was not in a marked crosswalk - heading west shortly before 7:30 PM last night. He was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Suburban.

Officers responded to the scene around 7:28 PM, and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital.

Police say the pedestrian who was struck may have been under the influence of alcohol. They are investigating that, and are not releasing his name until his family can be notified. The driver of the Suburban was not injured.

Driver killed in fiery Silver Spring crash (Photo)

A car crashed into a tree at Gist Avenue and Ray Drive in Silver Spring around 12:00 AM this morning. The car burst into flames, and according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer, the driver was trapped inside.

The driver was declared deceased at the scene before any ambulance transport could occur, Piringer said.

Takoma Park hit and run injures motorcyclist

A driver fled the scene after striking a motorcyclist in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park Monday night. The victim was injured, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer.

There was no immediate information available on the victim's current status, nor on the description of the driver, who remains at large.

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD STRUCK BY CAR IN SILVER SPRING

A school crossing guard directing traffic at Galway Elementary School was struck by a Ford Windstar minivan on Wednesday, around 3:40 PM, according to Montgomery County Police. Police say it was raining heavily at the time, but that didn't prevent the minivan's driver, Brice Anthony Huff of Berlin, MD, from being issued several traffic citations. Huff told police his malfunctioning windshield wipers prevented him from seeing the victim.

The crossing guard, Rosetta Parisi, 67, remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Parisi is a Silver Spring resident, as well as a substitute crossing guard for the Montgomery County Police.

EMERGENCY VEHICLES COLLIDE IN ASPEN HILL (PHOTO)

Two Montgomery County emergency vehicles responding to a call collided at the intersection of Parkland Drive and Aspen Hill Road, around 3:30 PM yesterday. Six personnel were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, with one in serious condition. The collision between a MCFRS fire engine and an EMS vehicle is under investigation by the Montgomery County Police.

ASPEN HILL MULTI-CAR PILEUP TRAPS ONE IN CAR

A traffic accident involving five vehicles snarled traffic and trapped one victim in their car Friday night in Aspen Hill. The collision occurred near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Parkland Drive. Despite the entrapment, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said that none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

SILVER SPRING RESIDENT INJURED IN MULTI-CAR PILEUP NEAR HAGERSTOWN

Ciara Guihen, a 19-year-old resident of Silver Spring, was injured in a five-car pileup on Interstate 70, near MD 66 (Mapleville Road) close to Hagerstown Friday morning at 11:48 AM, according to WCBC Radio news. She was transported to Meritus Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash was caused by the driver of a Ford F-350 striking a Dodge Caravan, according to the Maryland State Police.

3 INJURED IN FIERY ASPEN HILL AUTO ACCIDENT THIS MORNING

Two adults and one child suffered traumatic injuries in a crash at Aspen Hill Road and Parkland Drive, around 1:00 AM this morning. One vehicle was in flames when Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived on scene, according to Public Information Officer Pete Piringer. The vehicle fire was extinguished, and the 3 victims have been hospitalized. Their condition is unknown.
