Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is opening a new downtown Silver Spring location. The fast food chicken restaurant will be at 8401 Georgia Avenue at Bonifant Street. This is the latest development in a recent expansion by the chain in the D.C. region.

So the old Bombay Gaylord space? Popeye's expanding to urbanize blocks is really jarring.
ReplyDeleteJarring! What makes you say that? Popeye's has operated locations in urbanized blocks for years. I hear the dog whistle you're louding blowing, put it down.
ReplyDeleteDon't be an idiot. Of course it's jarring for them to move from suburban pads focusing on drive thrus to urbanized suburbs like Kentlands and GA at Bonifant focusing on walk-in service. It's a complete shift in business model.
DeleteHow racist are you that you think chicken = black people? Wtf??
DeleteRockville, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, MM, Germantown, DC(4), Pentagon Mall, all have been urbanized/suburbs for years ICYDK, quit playing the naive idiot. You're the racist on the dog whistle.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list of a whole bunch of traditional, auto-centric Popeyes locations. I appreciate you being so thorough in proving my exact point. This suburban model shift towards relying on foot traffic over car traffic is interesting. We'll see if it's successful.
DeleteP.S. grow up. My 12 year old acts more mature on the internet.
Soon the only food option will be chain restaurants
ReplyDeleteTBH, all fast food restaurants are crap. However, Popeyes is good AF... Especially after a night of boozing it up. I say, shutdown about H&M or any of the shops in the mall and get us a Williams Sonoma, Lululemon or an REI.
