Wiseguy Pizza will open a new location soon in the food court at Westfield's Wheaton Plaza mall, according to "coming soon" signage. In their effort to create authentic New York City-style thin crust pizza, the founders say they traveled not only to every borough in Gotham, but to pizzerias in Italy. But the chain is local, with existing locations in D.C. and Virginia. A stone deck oven and special water filtration system are the only clues these wiseguys will give about their secrets to great NY-style pizza.
The Wiseguy menu includes some geographical variations beyond the standard cheese and tomato slices John Travolta might consume on the streets of New York. Speaking of New York, Junior's Cheesecake is delivered straight from the Big Apple to Wiseguy's area shops. Among the side items to choose from are garlic knots and chicken fritters.
