Fitzgerald Auto Mall has closed at 10915 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. This had been an operating auto dealership for half-a-century. Like other large commercial properties left over from the golden age of Wheaton, expect this to be redeveloped into more stack-and-pack residential housing. Fitzgerald customers are being directed to the local auto sales giant's nearby White Flint locations: Fitzgerald Buick GMC and Fitzgerald Subaru.
Extremely valuable land now. Stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. I think we've long since maxed out on high rises in Wheaton. I also remember going there in 1974 with my parents when they purchased a car from what was then called Wheaton Dodge City.
