Real estate firm marketing vacant spaces at Bombay Gaylord building in Silver Spring

Here's the latest update from the former home of Bombay Gaylord at 8401 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. Thur Retail has online listings for the 2871 SF space on the first floor, and a 3500 SF space on the second floor. Their brochure states that the interiors have been renovated, and shows renderings of an updated building exterior.

Thur is suggesting a restaurant use for the first floor, and an architecture/design firm or beauty salon/beauty school use for the second floor space.

It's been two-and-a-half years since the Bombay Gaylord restaurant at 8401 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring was heavily-damaged by fire. About six months ago, the popular Indian restaurant began to renovate the space. What's the current status of the construction? Here's a look.

Just over two years since the Bombay Gaylord Indian restaurant was closed due to extensive fire damage, renovations have begun at the space at 8401 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. New windows and doors have been installed so far. Damage was so severe, the owners had said it would take a long time to rebuild and reopen the restaurant due to the cost.

Quarry House, Bombay Gaylord & Mandarin Chinese restaurants damaged in Silver Spring fire (Photos)

A major fire in the 8400 block of Georgia Avenue damaged three popular restaurants early this morning in Silver Spring. Quarry House Tavern, Bombay Gaylord and Mandarin Chinese restaurants were all damaged. Over 100 firefighters responded to the 2 alarm blaze. One firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
