Strong-arm rape reported in parking lot in Wheaton

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm rape in a commercial parking lot in Wheaton on the afternoon of January 24, 2026. The sexual assault was reported in a parking lot in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road at 2:26 PM Saturday. That is in the vicinity of the Wheaton Triangle and Wheaton Plaza.

Suspect arrested in Silver Spring stalking, sexual assault; more victims a concern

Montgomery County police have arrested a Rockville man in connection with a disturbing stalking and sexual assault case in Silver Spring. Police say the suspect approached the adult female victim earlier this month on January 10 and January 14. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her on January 16.

Marvin Alexander De Leon Siguenza, 36, was located and arrested later that day. He has been charged with stalking and 4th-degree sexual assault. However, detectives have expressed concern that the suspect may have preyed on additional victims prior to this.

Woman slashed by knife-wielding attacker in Takoma Park sexual assault

A woman was sexually-assaulted and wounded by a knife-wielding attacker in Takoma Park at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Takoma Park police officers responded to the scene in the 7700 block of Maple Avenue and found a female victim with lacerations to her leg. She told officers that she met up with a man she had met through a dating app, and that he had sexually assaulted her.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Detectives were able to identify the male suspect, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information about this incident, or who believes they were victimized by the same suspect, can contact the Takoma Park Police Criminal Investigations Division at 301-270-1100. 

Olney Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery patient says she was sexually assaulted by employee

A female patient at the Olney Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery called Montgomery County police to report that she had been sexually assaulted by a surgical assistant following a procedure at the facility on April 5, 2022. Detectives with the police department's Special Victims Investigation division, on the basis of the victim's testimony and physical evidence collected, were allegedly able to connect Mir Asadullah Naqvi, 47, of Ellicott City to the assault.

A warrant was issued for Naqvi's arrest on May 5. He was taken into custody on May 18. Naqvi has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and third- and fourth-degree sexual offenses. 

Detectives allege that there may be other victims in this case. They are urging victims to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.

Sexual assault reported at parking garage in downtown Silver Spring

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a sexual assault inside a Montgomery County public parking garage in Silver Spring early Saturday morning, May 7, 2022. A victim told officers they had been fondled by a suspect at a garage in the 900 block of Wayne Avenue at 12:53 AM, according to crime data. That is the Wayne Avenue Public Parking Garage 60.

Strong-arm rape reported at Aspen Hill apartment complex

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm rape in an office/storage area of an Aspen Hill apartment complex late Wednesday night, March 23, 2022. The sexual assault was reported at an apartment building in the 4100 block of Postgate Terrace, off Georgia Avenue, at 11:04 PM, according to crime data.

Aspen Hill man arrested for sexual assault

Montgomery County police have arrested an Aspen Hill man for sexual assault, and detectives are concerned that there may be other victims. Michael Joseph Weschler, Jr. of the 4100 block of Landgreen Street, was arrested after a female victim reported that Weschler allegedly sexually assaulted her at his home on December 23, 2021.

The female victim reported the incident at a local hospital four days later. At that time, she told detectives that Weschler was the leader of her local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter, and had invited her to his home "to help her with treatment and the required acts of service."

Detectives are concerned that Weschler may have used his position at AA to victimize other women. Anyone with additional information about this case, or who believes they were also a victim, is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division Sex Assault Unit at 240-773-5050.

Sexual assault in downtown Silver Spring

A sexual assault was reported to Montgomery County police in downtown Silver Spring early yesterday morning, October 7, 2021. The victim reported being fondled in the 8000 block of 13th Street at 6:52 AM, according to crime data. That's outside the Subway and the Days Inn.

Takoma Park pastor arrested for alleged sexual assault, rape of female church members

City of Takoma Park Police Chief Antonio DeVaul announced the arrest of a pastor of Iglesia Pentecostal El Fin Viene Church at 7523 New Hampshire Avenue. Pastor Erick Odir Vidal Fuentes, 37, of Hyattsville has been charged with 2nd degree rape, 4th degree sex offense and 2nd degree assault. The alleged victims are two female members of the church.

Sex assault reported at Silver Spring nursing home

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an individual being fondled at a Silver Spring nursing home Monday afternoon. The incident was reported at a nursing home in the 3200 block of Bel Pre Road in the Aspen Hill area around 1:59 PM yesterday, according to crime data.

Indecent exposure in White Oak

Montgomery County police are looking for a man accused of exposing himself to a young woman in White Oak. They have released surveillance video of the man they say exposed himself, and then "inappropriately touched himself," in an apartment building laundry room in the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive at 7:27 PM on August 27.

The 24-year-old victim says the suspect blocked the laundry room door so she could not leave, and then fled following the attack.

12-year-old girl allegedly raped by MCPS school bus driver in Silver Spring

Another day, another sex offense arrest of a Montgomery County Public Schools employee. As the school system's scandalous and sordid child abuse saga continues to unfold, and MCPS "leadership" and the County Council cover-up and hide, parents are left seeking answers. In the latest incident, MCPS bus driver Etienne K. Kabongo, 62, of the 7800 block of Mineral Springs Drive in Gaithersburg was arrested on August 5 and charged with second-degree rape, third-degree sexual offense and the sexual abuse of a minor.

The arrest came after an investigation of an alleged incident aboard Kabongo's bus on July 31, around 12:30 PM. His bus, transporting special education students, stopped at Yates Road in Silver Spring to drop off a student. While a second MCPS bus attendant was off the bus assisting the student being dropped off, Kabongo allegedly raped another 12-year-old female student aboard the bus.

Detectives with the Montgomery County police Special Victims Investigations unit say they are concerned that Kabongo, known to students as "Mr. Steve," may have other victims. Their concerns are multiplied by the fact that "Mr. Steve" has worked since 2006 as a bus operator, primarily driving for students receiving special needs education, at multiple schools across the County. Anyone who is concerned that a child has been victimized by Kabongo is asked to call detectives at 240-773-5400.

Police seek suspect who exposed himself, touched teen girl on bus in Wheaton (Photo)

Montgomery County police detectives are asking for the public's assistance in catching a suspect who exposed himself and touched a teenage girl on a Ride On bus in Wheaton on March 30. They have now identified the man on footage from the bus surveillance camera, and released the above photo.

Police say a 17-year-old girl boarded a Ride On bus at the Twinbrook Metro station that evening, and sat down at the back of the bus. She told detectives that the man above, who was already aboard the bus, moved back to sit next to her. After a brief "conversation," he then exposed himself to her, and touched her "inappropriately."

As the bus stopped near the intersection of Randolph Road and Dalewood Drive around 7:30 PM, the girl went forward and told the bus driver what had happened. The bus driver called the police, at which point the suspect was allowed to exit the bus. He apparently was nonchalant enough to take time to collect his bicycle from the mounted rack on the bus, which he then pedaled south on Dalewood Drive, in a successful getaway attempt.

NORTHWEST BRANCH TRAIL RAPE SUSPECT ARRESTED (PHOTO)

Montgomery County and Maryland-National Capital Park Police have arrested a suspect in the May 5, 2014 rape that was reported in Northwest Branch Park in Silver Spring.

Park Police detectives searching the park for evidence on Friday, May 9, discovered a backpack matched the description of the one the victim described as being the suspect's. Close by, they encountered the suspect himself, wearing the same necklace the victim recalled him wearing during the attack.

Not only was Joaquin A. Orellana Torres, 24, of Hughes Road in Hyattsville taken into custody, but he also admitted his involvement in the attack, according to Montgomery County Police. He has been charged with one count of 1st degree rape, and one count of armed robbery. A hearing to determine bail will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM.

“The arrest of Joaquin Orellana Torres helps to maintain the safe environment for everyone who uses the Montgomery County Park system," Chief Antonio DeVaul of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police (Montgomery County Division) said in a statement early Saturday morning. "This case was closed quickly due to great work and coordination by detectives from the Montgomery County Police and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police.”

A sexual assault was reported Wednesday in the Kemp Mill area of Wheaton, according to crime data. A narcotics arrest was made this past Friday at Kennedy High School in Glenmont. And a robbery was reported Thursday on Norlee Drive.
