Regal Majestic Theater tagged with graffiti in Silver Spring


Graffiti artists apparently gained access to the rooftop of the Regal Majestic cineplex building at 900 Ellsworth Drive at Downtown Silver Spring. They left tags on the facade just below the top of the corner parapet of the building. Because there is an overhang below that facade, the graffiti is not highly visible from the streets directly below. Four of the facade tiles were painted black behind one of the tags.

Church window smashed in Takoma Park


Takoma Park police responded to an incident of vandalism at a church yesterday morning. Police say rocks were thrown through a stained glass window at the Bright Light Baptist Church at 7300 New Hampshire Avenue sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. They are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the Takoma Park Police Department at 301-270-1100, and refer to case #230001043.

Takoma Park police investigate shots-fired incident at Toatley-Fraser Park


Takoma Park police responded to a 911 call regarding gunfire in the area of Toatley-Fraser Park at 8330 Eastridge Avenue at 2:00 AM this morning, December 1, 2022. Searching the area, they located shell casings in the park, and in the 8300 block of Roanoke Avenue. The latter casing was believed to be from a second shots-fired incident reported a few hours before this one. 

Officers also found that picnic tables in the park had been vandalized. Three men were seen running down the street after the gunfire was heard, and were described by a 911 caller as being in their late teens or early twenties.

Vehicle vandalized in Takoma Park


Tires were slashed on a vehicle in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue in Takoma Park on November 20. Takoma Park police were called to investigate the next day. Police say the vandalism occurred sometime between 2:30 AM and 3:20 PM on Sunday. Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to call police at 301-270-1100, and refer to case number 220051510.

Vehicles vandalized in Takoma Park


Takoma Park police responded to two incidents of vandalism involving vehicles on the afternoon of November 12, 2022. The driver's side window of a vehicle was smashed in the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue. A vehicle sunroof was smashed in the 7200 block of Spruce Avenue.
