Spring-Colesville Garage 21 demolition update (Photos)

The Montgomery County public parking garage at Spring Street and Colesville Road is slowly-but-surely being demolished. Removal of the garage is clearing the way for an expansion of the United Therapeutics campus. That expansion will include a 6-story building with 111,724 SF of offices and laboratories, and 10,000 SF of retail, and a new 3-story parking garage.

  1. This is going to be such an awesome gateway building into DTSS. Here's hoping they continue to thrive and expand! Would be amazing to see the super crappy pepco substation next to them redeveloped down the line as another campus expansion....

  2. Would be interesting to know what the transaction was - did the county sell the property to UniTher? For how much? Or is it a 99 year lease, or something like that?

  3. Wow. Another part of my youth bites the dust :( My grandma lived across the street at Cole Spring Plaza Apts and we would always park at this garage when my folks and I would go see her on Sunday afternoons in the 70's and 80's. I used to try to jump and touch the roof inside.
