First Purple Line station signage installed in Silver Spring

The first Purple Line light rail station signage I have seen in Montgomery County is now installed at the Silver Spring Library station in downtown Silver Spring. Crews have been installing gray brick pavers between the embedded tracks at the station. The light rail line is now expected to begin service in early 2028.

  1. The condition they have left intersections after they complete track installation is horrendous (Wayne & Cedar, Wayne & Dale, for example). Perhaps this project could be bothered with providing road conditions that a normal car can drive on? We should not need to have off road vehicles to drive our kids to school or commute to work.

    1. Agreed - I often wonder "Is that finished?" when looking at these embedded track sites.

  2. Driving down the streets like Bonifant where you're forced to drive on the rails is treacherous. I had no idea if I still had tires after all the noise and vibration.
