Tower crane removed at Core development in Silver Spring (Photos)

Signs that Foulger Pratt's Core development is entering the final stretch include the dismantling of the project's tower crane. I caught a crew on Georgia Avenue with two cranes removing it Sunday, requiring some lane closures.

Core will contain 292 apartments and about 1500 SF of retail space. Given its location, it not surprisingly has a projected walk score of 95. The project is scheduled to deliver this summer. The developers are Foulger Pratt and Willco.

  1. Really hideous so far. Shaping up to be the ugliest new build in DTSS since The Portico was value-engineered at the last minute, thanks to the Great Recession. At least everything else under construction (The Pearl, Central, Studio Plaza, UniTher Phase 3) is pretty good.
