Thayer & Spring is entering the home stretch of construction at 915 Thayer Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. Developed by Fairfield Residential, the apartment building will include a yoga studio, a gym, the Hideout social lounge, a bike repair facility, and the Barker Lounge pet spa. When completed, Thayer & Spring will feature 415 units, 15% of which will be affordable. It will also boast 10,500 SF of retail, and 35100 SF of public space, including a green plaza, a through-block walkway, and public art displays.
Their website is no longer active and they're not returning any calls. I was interested in leasing but no one bothered to get back to me or anyone else I know who's interested in leasing. On their Facebook page they said they were going to start leasing in January but since then no updates was made in weeks. They may be entering the "home stretch" of construction but they're still a long way from being completed.
ReplyDeleteI noticed some model units have been completed. I can see the kitchen cabinets, lights, appliances, etc.
ReplyDeletePhotos #4 and #12 clearly do not show a facility that is in the "home stretch" of construction.
ReplyDeleteThat's because the pictures look to be 2 to 3 weeks old.
ReplyDelete7:01: Even if your claim were actually true, how would you know?
DeleteYeah! How would you know that? You have some special eyes that can see things? You have some crazy ability to differentiate dates? Tell 'em, Robert!
DeleteI walk by it every day. The statue has been covered in plastic for the past 2 weeks. That same stretch has had the sidewalks torn up for a couple of weeks. Most of those barriers were removed a while ago. It snowed heavily almost 2 weeks ago, yet your pictures have not a bit of snow in them. A Thayer & Spring sign was put early last week that your picture is missing.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I know.
8:33 You're absolutely correct. I also live in SS and the pictures are dated. The T/S sign was put up last week at the entrance on Spring Street and there's marble facade along with a partially completed ground level where I assume the lobby and concierge desk will be. There are also a lot of completed balconies that are not shown in the pictures. I spoke to a construction worker and asked him when the building will be completed. He estimated summer. He said the first three floors are finished but to give off the impression of completion they leave most of the lights on. The building is FAR from completed. I suspect they disconnected their website and contact information due to the volume of inquiries they are receiving. Pre leasing was suppose to be last December then they changed it to January and now February. Only so much inaccuracies you can claim before they stop putting out estimates all together. My guess is late spring for pre-leasing.
