Dollar Tree will open a new location in White Oak later this year. The chain has leased the space at 11130 New Hampshire Avenue. That was formerly home to Montgomery County's last Office Depot store until 2023. The 10,770-square-foot retail space was also once home to a W. Bell & Co. store. Montgomery County police officer Phillip Carl Metz was tragically killed in the line of duty at this W. Bell & Co. location, when he was shot by a burglar breaking into the store on March 27, 1981.
