Glenmont Forest community block party set for this Sunday, July 10, 2022

The annual Glenmont Forest community block party will be this Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Glenmont Forest Community Park and Pavilion, located at the corner of Randolph Road and Georgia Avenue. The park is adjacent to the Glenmont Fire Station No. 18 on Georgia Avenue.

This year's block party will feature local vendors; displays of nonprofits; artisans; informational booths from local, state and federal officials; project grant funders; County departments; and live entertainment. There will be games and family activities, including moon bounces.

Special events at this year's party will include the creation of the Gathering Tree Public Art project by local artists Sandra Perez-Ramos and Stuart Diekmeyer, funded by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. County officials will dedicate the completed Green Streets Project in Glenmont, and also launch a Clean Water Montgomery campaign. Local organization Impact Silver Spring will announce new, grant-funded community gardens.

The event is free to attend. It will be held rain or shine.
