Nike will open one of its new Nike Unite concept stores at Downtown Silver Spring before the end of the year. It will be located at 910 Ellsworth Drive at the Peterson Cos. development. Nike Unite is presented as connecting members of the community through sport, and having each location reflect the city it is in. Cutting through the corporate boardroom speak and virtue signaling, some wonder if it is simply a new way for Nike to bump mom-and-pop sneaker shops out of local markets.
