The Gulf gas station at 8600 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring has closed...again. You may recall it closed back in February 2018, when it was expected to be demolished and replaced with a hotel. But then it reopened, and the hotel plan seemed to slide into development hell.
This time, however, the gas pumps have been removed. That doesn't necessarily mean the station won't reopen, as they could just be installing new ones. And that may be the case here, as when I searched online, I found that Source of the Spring is reporting the station may be converting to an Exxon.
