Police responded in time to catch the alleged suspect in the burglary, however. Peaches Wright, 42, of Baltimore was arrested. Wright was charged with felony burglary, and two misdemeanor charges of destruction of property. Judge John C. Moffett ordered Wright's release on an unsecured $1000 bond.
Following the impacts, the truck overturned and collided with the rear of two other vehicles—a white Acura RDX and a white Ford Escape—which were stopped at a red light at the intersection of westbound University Boulevard East and Colesville Road. The Chevrolet Silverado driver, 35-year-old Moussa Diarra of Springdale, Maryland, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Neither the driver of the Acura RDX nor the driver of the Ford Escape reported any injuries.
Police say this remains an active and ongoing investigation, which may take anywhere from several weeks to months to conclude as detectives work to determine the underlying factors that contributed to the crash. However, according to court records, Rodriguez-Salmeron was not charged with any weapons violations. He has been charged with felony 1st-degree assault, theft of under $100, and misdemeanor 2nd-degree assault. Police did not release details related to these assault charges, instead accusing Rodriguez-Salmeron of aggravated assault for having the unspecified weapon in their crime summary, which is substantially different from the charges actually filed in court.
Rodriguez-Salmeron was initially held without bond, but was released on a $7500 unsecured personal bond by Judge Patricia L. Mitchell on June 23. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in the case for July 17.
In another irony, the adult "outside intruder" that Montgomery County Public Schools officials tried to blame the incident on, was not the person who was carrying the firearm onto the campus. However, Djibia Gombo, 19, of Silver Spring did allegedly pick up the gun after Wilson dropped it. Police also allege that Gombo briefly pointed the gun at a "Montgomery County Public Schools security officer" before placing on the pavement.
Gombo was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with 1st-degree assault. Police say they are continuing their investigation of the incident. No mugshots of Wilson or Gombo were released by police with their statement this afternoon.
An initial summary of events press release from the police department does not state who dropped the gun. It does state that a 19-year-old male was taken into custody. The summary goes on to say that a short time after this altercation, a juvenile who was involved in the brawl arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. @TheDMVLive on Twitter obtained video that appears to show the moment when the gun was fired in the school parking lot.
The victim was allegedly engaged in an argument with the suspects when he was shot. Delgado is now being held at the County jail. He is awaiting extradition to Rockcastle County, Kentucky. The rescued girl was transported to a local hospital for a health evaluation.
Fullwood is being held pending a bond hearing. Detectives who reviewed surveillance video claim Fullwood was seen following the woman prior to the attack.
Barfield and Cunningham were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with armed robbery, motor vehicle theft, and related offenses. Both are being held without bond. Their mug shots have not been released to the public.

Two days later, in the early morning hours of September 6, a single male suspect approached an adult male near the intersection of Hewitt and Georgia Avenue. The suspect displayed a weapon, police say, and took property from the victim. Police describe that suspect only as "male."
