Layhill teen missing

Gissell Alejandra Zavala, 17, who lives in the 14000 block of Cleese Court in the Layhill area, is missing. Zavala is described by Montgomery County police as a Latina, 5’ 2” tall, and weighing 150 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.  She has tattoos, including a tattoo on her left forearm.

Police and her family are concerned for Zavala’s physical and emotional welfare. Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Gissell Alejandra Zavala is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).

Montgomery County Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing Burtonsville woman.  Mona Mohamed Fadley, age 63, of the 13500 block of Greencastle Ridge Terrace in Burtonsville, was last seen yesterday (Saturday, October 25), at approximately noon.

Police say they are concerned about her emotional and physical welfare. Fadley is described as a white female, 5’ 7” tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds.  She has short black hair and brown eyes, and wears glasses.   She is believed to be driving a black 2008 Nissan Altima, with Maryland tags: MLM800.

RICHARD ALLEN WELCH IS PERSON OF INTEREST IN LYON SISTERS WHEATON PLAZA ABDUCTION CASE

Montgomery County Police continue to move closer to a possible closure of the devastating 1975 disappearance of Sheila and Katherine Lyon, naming Richard Allen Welch as a second "person of interest" in the cold case. Welch, 69, is the uncle of the man police have made the focus of their recent investigation, Lloyd Lee Welch. Lloyd Welch was believed to have been at Wheaton Plaza the day the 10 and 12-year-old sisters disappeared, and is currently in prison in Delaware.

The younger Welch, 57, was a carnival worker, and denies any involvement in the Lyon sisters' disappearance. Richard Welch is described by police as a security guard who worked near Wheaton Plaza. His current residence is given as Hyattsville.

A major recent development in the investigation has led detectives to the area of Bedford County, Virginia, where the Welch family owned land in the 1970s.

Police are asking anyone who has any information to offer regarding Richard Allen Welch's alleged involvement in the girls' disappearance to contact them immediately.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING SILVER SPRING TEENAGER (PHOTO)

Montgomery County Police are searching for Wendy Esmeralda Monge, age 17, of the 9100 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. Monge was last seen on April 10.  She is Latina, 5’06” tall, and weighs approximately 110 pounds.  Monge has brown eyes and long, black hair, and is known to frequent the Silver Spring and Hyattsville areas. Police say she often uses public transportation.

GLENMONT TEEN MISSING (PHOTO)

Taylor Lynn Howling, of the 2200 block of Greenery Lane in Glenmont, has been missing since January 20, Montgomery County Police say.

Howling is a black female, 5’03” tall, 105 pounds, with brown eyes, and black hair.  Police say she has a medical condition that requires monitoring.

She was recently sighted near West Deer Park Road and North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, and police are asking the public's help in locating her. If you have any information, please call police at 240-773-5400, or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hour line).

POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING SILVER SPRING WOMAN (PHOTO)

Montgomery County Police are searching for 87-year-old Silver Spring resident Florence Johnson.

Johnson was last seen around 12:15 PM today in front of her home in the 8500 block of Springvale Road.

She is described as a black female with gray and black hair, approximately 5’4″ tall, and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue skirt, pink jacket, and blue and white sneakers.

Police say Johnson has a diagnosis of dementia, and other conditions that require medication.
