Unplugged Restaurant and Sports Bar hoping for soft opening this week in Wheaton (Photos)

It's a big week for restaurant news in downtown Wheaton. Unplugged Restaurant and Sports Bar is hoping to have a soft opening this week on Georgia Avenue - beginning Thursday, if all goes well. Longtime readers will recall that Unplugged first leased the former De Lounge space last fall.

Unplugged won't just be your typical sports bar. Their menu will have a Latin/international flavor, and their cocktail list will feature exotic drinks, made with seasonal fruits, in addition to standard favorites. There will be outdoor dining available, karaoke, and many flatscreen TVs.

Don't worry, though, sports fans - they've still got NFL Sunday Ticket just in time for football season. The hardwood floored interior is accented with wood furniture, vibrant wall art and a red color scheme on the walls. You'll also find neon lighting around the bar.

Stay tuned for the official opening date.
