Auto parts being stolen in Takoma Park

Takoma Park police report that another wave of auto part thefts has hit the city in recent days. On May 6, a catalytic converter was stolen from a 2003 Honda Odyssey in the 6600 block of Prince George's Avenue, and the battery was ripped out of a car in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue. Another catalytic converter was stolen from a 2008 Toyota Prius in the 300 block of Hilltop Road.

Police ask that the public alert them to any strange activity around vehicles at night. If you hear power tools or sawing outside near parked cars at night, they ask you to call (301) 270-1100 to report it.
