Wheaton mallgoer assaulted, sprayed with bleach, police say; video of suspects released


Montgomery County police are seeking two female suspects who they allege assaulted and sprayed a patron at Westfield's Wheaton Plaza mall with bleach on April 15, 2022. That evening at 8:00 PM, police say the female victim was inside the mall when she was approached by two black females in their late teens. They allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, and began kicking her in the face. The suspects then allegedly sprayed bleach in the victim's eyes and fled.

Detectives describe suspect #1 as wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweater, a black bonnet, and black and purple shoes.  She was also carrying a white purse. Suspect #2 wore her hair in long black and blonde braids, and wore blue jeans, a black hooded sweater and blue, black and white Nike high top sneakers. Police have released video of the suspects on a Metro platform.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
