A Silver Spring man was killed in a shooting in an unincorporated area of Takoma Park in Prince George's County, the Prince George's County Police Department says. Homicide detectives are now investigating the incident. Officers responded to the 6800 block of Red Top Road in Takoma Park at 8:20 PM on October 8, 2023, after residents who heard gunfire called 911. Upon arriving, they found Jerome Clarke, 45, of Silver Spring, suffering from gunshot wounds. Clarke was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. PGPD did not specify how much time passed in the interim.
Homicide detectives are working to identify any suspects and a motive for the killing. Anyone with information on this case is asked to speak to a Homicide Unit detective at 301-516-2512. I don't complain much about the writing on many articles, however, the first paragraph here is really bad. It deteriorates after the third sentence.
