Dunkin' Donuts to remodel Silver Spring Metro Plaza store

The interior of the Dunkin' Donuts store at 8401 Colesville Road at Silver Spring Metro Plaza will have a new look later this year. A remodeling and renovation of the downtown donuts-and-coffee destination is expected to begin by summer. New finishes, new display cases, a new ceiling, and even a new door are among the upgrades planned. Plumbing and electrical improvements will also be made.

Dunkin' Donuts opens new store in downtown Silver Spring

Dunkin' Donuts has opened an additional location in downtown Silver Spring. It is located at 8455 Fenton Street, Suite 5-A, in the ground floor of the Central apartment building. The new store has the features found at the Dunkin' Donuts locations that have opened in recent years, including the special tap system and more environmentally-sensitive equipment and design elements. Franchisee Luis Group Management operates dozens of Dunkin' Donuts locations in the area including this one, as well as Baskin Robbins, Arby's, and Jersey Mike's stores. Time to make the donuts!

Construction of the new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 12196 Georgia Avenue in Glenmont is nearing completion. It's quite an exterior transformation from the building's past life as a dry cleaners. The facade has gotten the latest design treatment from the franchisee. Inside, is a custom Glenmont message. It's almost "time to make the donuts."

The Dunkin' Donuts store at 2405 Reedie Drive in Wheaton has been temporarily closed for a few weeks for renovations. As of Sunday, it looks like the reopening isn't far off. New signage with the shorter "Dunkin'" branding has been installed, virtually all kitchen and counter serving equipment is in place, and the new place-making sign denoting this as "Wheaton" is on the wall inside. Menu boards are up above the counter, and seating is in place for diners. (Almost) time to make the donuts!

The Dunkin' Donuts store at 2405 Reedie Drive in Wheaton has temporarily closed for renovations. This is an ongoing series of renovations to the franchisee's Dunkin' Donuts locations across Montgomery County. In addition to the remodeling, expect signage to be updated with the new, shorter "Dunkin'" branding that drops the "Donuts" half of the name. This store was a popular stop for drivers of the Metrobus L6 route during the 1980s, and with good reason.

Free donuts at Dunkin' Donuts in East MoCo this Friday, June 7

National Donut Day is this Friday, June 7, 2024. That means free donuts at your local Dunkin' Donuts in Aspen Hill, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Kensington, White Oak, Takoma Park, Burtonsville and Olney. Get a free donut with the purchase of any beverage, including the limited-time drinks of summer 2024 like the Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee or the Vanilla Frosted Donut Iced Coffee Signature Latte. 

Dunkin' Donuts has also teamed up with Scrub Daddy to create two Dunkin' Donuts-themed sponges. The Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy sponges come as a set for $9.98 plus shipping. They can be ordered online.

Dunkin' Donuts to open new downtown Silver Spring location

A new Dunkin' Donuts location is in the works for downtown Silver Spring. It will be in the Central apartments at 8455 Fenton Street, next to Central Nail Bar. What was previously described as the "last space" available for retail tenants appears to have now been subdivided into two smaller spaces, leaving room for one more tenant available. There is an existing Dunkin' Donuts location downtown, at 8401 Colesville Road.

Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store to open in Glenmont

A new Dunkin' Donuts-Baskin Robbins store is planned for the Glenmont area. It will be located at 12106 Georgia Avenue. This space has most recently been home to $2.49 Cleaners, a dry cleaning business. Time to make the donuts!

Dunkin' Donuts new Cloverly location to hold Grand Opening event today

The new Dunkin' Donuts store at 15509 New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly is holding a Grand Opening event this morning. At 10:00 AM, the first 100 guests in line will receive free coffee for a year. From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, you can take a selfie with Dunkin' mascot Sprinkles, or take a chance at winning with the Dunkin' Prize Wheel. Jesse Luis of the local franchisee Luis Group will host a ribbon cutting alongside members of the community at 11:00 AM this morning.

If you haven't been to one of the new Dunkin' next-generation stores in Montgomery County, today is your chance at the Cloverly location. The 2,200 square-foot store will be open Monday through Saturday from 4:30 AM to 9:00 PM, and on Sundays from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It features Dunkin’s new restaurant design, including modern finishes, lighting and interior layout; the brand's new Premium Pours coffee tap system; a dedicated mobile pickup area, and environmental features that make it about 33% more energy-efficient than the standard Dunkin' restaurant model.

Best of all, there is a drive-thru! Indoor customers will enjoy free WiFi.

Four Corners Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins to celebrate grand opening September 17

The new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 115 University Boulevard W. in the Four Corners area of Silver Spring will celebrate its arrival with a grand opening celebration tomorrow, Saturday, September 17, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM. Be one of the first 100 guests, and you will receive free Dunkin' coffee or free Baskin Robbins ice cream scoops for a year. Everyone will have a chance to win other prizes when the Dunkin' Prize Wheel spins between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

Special guests will include Dunkin' mascot Cuppy, and franchisee Jesse Luis of the The Luis Group, who will cut the ribbon at 10:00 AM. The 2400 square foot store employees two dozen people, and features the brand's latest modern and energy-efficient design. Like all of Dunkin's new stores in Montgomery County, it offers the Premium Pours tap system, and a special area for pick-up orders.

The store will be open seven days a week from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM. There is indoor seating with free WiFi, and best of all, the store has a drive-thru!

Free coffee for a year for first 100 customers at Burtonsville Dunkin' Donuts December 4 at 10 AM

The Dunkin' Donuts at 15640 Old Columbia Pike will celebrate its status as the first Next Generation Dunkin' store in Burtonsville with a grand-opening ceremony this Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM to noon. Starting at 10:00 AM, the store will give the first 100 customers in line a gift card for free coffee for one year. Even if you miss out on that, you will still be able to enjoy a free medium Hot or Iced Coffee (excludes Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew and some additions such as dairy alternatives and espresso shots), in addition to live music with a DJ, a balloon artist, face painting, photos with Dunkin’ mascot Cuppy and free giveaways from the Dunkin’ prize wheel.   

At 11:00 AM, franchisees Ketan and Chetan Bhalani of the Jay Bhalani Network will host the store’s official ribbon cutting, and then present a check donation for $1,000 to support the Laurel Boys and Girls Club. This location is the first Maryland Dunkin' store for the Jay Bhalani Network.

Next generation features of the store include modern design and materials, the Premium Pours tap system, energy efficient appliances and lighting, and Dunkin' on Demand self-order kiosks. The 2300 square foot store employs 16 people, and also includes a Baskin Robbins.

Dunkin' Donuts is coming to Cloverly

Dunkin' Donuts continues its rapid expansion in Montgomery County, and will also continue a new trend of converting former banks to Dunkin' stores. The newest location planned is at 15509 New Hampshire Avenue, in the Cloverly North shopping center in Silver Spring. This former bank space has a drive-thru, which hopefully will be put into use for donut-buying purposes in the not-so-distant future.

Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store to open in Silver Spring July 16

The Luis Group's large network of Dunkin' Donuts stores continues to expand across Montgomery County. A new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins combination store will open at 11140 New Hampshire Avenue in the White Oak area of Silver Spring this Friday, July 16, 2021. 

Starting at 10:00 AM on Friday, the first 100 guests at the store (Maryland residents "in the Silver Spring area" 18-and-older) will receive free coffee for a year. That should wake you up for the ribbon cutting at 11:00 AM. Following the ribbon cutting, Luis Group will present a $1000 grant to Silver Spring non-profit Drive to Cure, which generates awareness and funding for research of rare cancers.

The 2,400 square-foot store will employ 10 crew members, and be open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It features Dunkin’s new restaurant design, including modern finishes, lighting and interior layout; the brand's new Premium Pours coffee tap system; a dedicated mobile pickup area, and environmental features that make it about 33% more energy-efficient than the standard Dunkin' restaurant model.

Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins coming to Four Corners in Silver Spring

Dunkin' Donuts' rapid expansion in Montgomery County over the last decade has a donut hole that is about to be filled: Four Corners in Silver Spring. A joint Dunkin' Donuts-Baskin Robbins store will be taking over the Capital One bank branch building at 115 University Boulevard later this year. The bank structure includes a drive-thru, so let's hope this will be one of those great Dunkin' Donuts locations that has a drive-thru.

Burtonsville Dunkin' renovation planned

Significant interior renovations are ahead for the Dunkin' located at 15640 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville. New ceilings, new walls and kitchen changes are among the alterations planned for the coming months. The popular donut and coffee chain has been updating stores across the country in recent years.

Police search for suspects in armed robbery at Veirs Mill Dunkin' Donuts

Montgomery County police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating two suspects in the March 19 armed robbery of the Dunkin' Donuts store at 12200 Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring. The suspects entered the store around 5:00 AM that morning (4:46 AM, according to the store's security camera). One appeared to be using an umbrella with a New Orleans Saints logo. As you can see in surveillance video released by police, one of the two suspects leapt over the counter toward an employee.

A second suspect threatened the employee with a screwdriver while reaching over the counter, and removing cash from the register drawer. The two suspects then fled on foot.

Anyone with information about the suspects or this armed robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.

Montgomery County has led the state of Maryland in coronavirus cases. Late Saturday night, the first death from coronavirus in Montgomery County sadly was confirmed by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. According to the Maryland Department of Health, the deceased patient was a woman in her 40s, who had underlying medical conditions that complicated her battle against the covid-19 virus.

Also yesterday, Best Buy announced that it would be closing all of its stores, effective immediately. Their stores will continue to sell products, but sales will be via curbside pickup at your nearest store.

Your local Dunkin' Donuts stores in Montgomery County are still open for carry-out and drive-thru sales. You can also use their app (scan the QR code in the image above to get the app) for touchless ordering.

Hot Pot Legend at 595 Hungerford Drive also announced yesterday that it was closing temporarily. They had been offering curbside pickup and delivery, but said they were ceasing all operations to protect their employees and families. Hot Pot Legend plans to reopen once the crisis has passed.

Silver Spring Wendy's to become a Dunkin' Donuts

Shocker! The Wendy's restaurant at 13804 Outlet Drive in the Briggs Chaney area of Silver Spring is going to undergo a major transformation. In fact, it is going to be converted into a Dunkin' Donuts store.

Hopefully, it will retain the drive-thru as Dunkin' Donuts has done at another vacant fast food location in Rockville. In the future, you'll celebrate a purchase at Sport Chevrolet with a Coolatta instead of a Frosty.

Olney Dunkin' Donuts to host community celebration September 16

Save the date: The Dunkin' Donuts at Olney Village Shopping Center will host a free Community Celebration on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It will feature fun for the whole family, including face painting, music, a raffle, games, a moonbounce, and a visit from a local fire department.
